The NOC Technician will be responsible for the smooth running and stability of client's and internal systems infrastructure, investigating and resolving issues as they arise while thinking of ways to reduce common problems and monitoring critical systems. This is a customer facing role, with the individual responsible for delivering quality service and support to our current and future client base. Besides your day to day activities, there will also be opportunities for you to be involved in projects and innovation. Responsibilities and duties (include but not limited to) o Provide support service that ensure Client's infrastructure services are running to its optimum performance and that all departmental key performance indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met o Ensure stability of all client System Services o Deliver an outstanding level of service to your Customer base o Maximizing availability of client's infrastructure through continuous improvement and proactive, preventative maintenance o Ensure that all procedures and policies are up to date and are available for use by all members of the team o Using scripts and automation, support deployment and maintenance of applications and system settings o Recording and taking ownership of issues using our in-house ticketing system through to successful resolution o Conduct deep dive analysis to determine root cause of technical issues o Managing daily infrastructure audits and checks o Work with internal and external auditors o Provide on call or out of hours' support as the business requires o Interface with vendors, market participants, and financial exchanges o Conduct a root cause analysis and create RFOs and Incident reports. o Conduct system, network, and environmental checkouts and guarantee their delivery to necessary customers/clients. Qualifications o Computer Science / applicable degree, or equivalent work experience is required o 1-2 years of experience in an operational environment o Self-starter with a drive to develop own skills and knowledge o Experience with monitoring systems to configuration level e.g. Zabbix, Nagios, PRTG, OpenNMC, etc. o Experience working on network equipment in an ISP style environment or a large NOC preferable Desirable Qualifications/Experience Understanding of the following technologies and with troubleshooting: o Router/switch hardware and software (Juniper, Arista, Cumulus, etc) o TCP/IP o Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF) o Firewalls (VPNs, Policies) o Linux, Windows Working Arrangements This is an office-based position. Though travel may be required from time to time, it is not expected to be regular or frequent. The role holder will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary for the performance of this role.
